Chemnitz (dpa / sn) - After the deadly knife attack on a 46-year-old in Chemnitz, the investigators are trying to clarify the background of the crime. The woman and a 34-year-old were attacked in a backyard of an apartment building on Saturday night. She died in hospital, the male victim was seriously injured. "The suspect has not yet provided any information," said the spokesman for the public prosecutor's office, Wolfgang Klein, on Monday.
The 20-year-old was arrested shortly after the crime. He is in custody on suspicion of a criminal offence. The relationship between the two victims and why they were attacked is now the subject of the investigation, said Klein. Both had suffered stab wounds.
