Görlitz (dpa/sn) - An 83-year-old woman from Görlitz became the victim of a scam on Friday. The woman's daughter initially received a message via the WhatsApp messenger service in which a fraudster posed as her son, the police said on Saturday. He claimed to have problems with online banking and a new phone number. Since the daughter of the 83-year-old was at work, she asked her mother to clarify the problem. This then initially transferred 2750 euros to the supposed grandson. When she tried to transfer another 3790 euros, however, the bank contacted her and the fraud was noticed.
