Saxony: After a death threat, further allegations against 67-year-olds

Aue-Bad Schlema (dpa/sn) - After a death threat against Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer (CDU), a 67-year-old from Lößnitz (Erzgebirge district) is accused of further crimes. About a year ago, before Kretschmer visited Oberwiesenthal, he is said to have called a local pastry shop and said he would like to shoot the prime minister. He had lodged an objection against a penalty order, so that the Aue-Bad Schlema district court wanted to negotiate on Tuesday, according to earlier information. But in the meantime, further allegations have been linked to the process, as court spokesman Hartmut Meyer-Frey said.

According to this, the man is said to have insulted police officers during a check on another person in Zwönitz, and in another case violently attacked a federal police officer. Also, comments he made on a Facebook page have become a matter for the judiciary. The court hearing is now scheduled for January 2023.
