Chemnitz (dpa/sn) - A British aerial bomb from World War II was defused in Chemnitz on Tuesday evening. The city announced this in the evening. The 250-kilo bomb was found in the afternoon during construction work in the south-east of Chemnitz. The authorities had previously assumed a weight of 150 kilograms. Around 1000 people had to leave their apartments in the Erfenschlag district in the late afternoon. In the evening they were able to return to their homes.
