Halle (dpa/sa) - The Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation is providing almost 359,000 euros to support art projects or individual artists. The foundation board approved 46 applications for funding on Wednesday, the foundation announced in Halle. A total of 123 funding applications were submitted in the call for applications in the second half of the year. These were then evaluated, among other things, for originality and feasibility. According to the information, the benefits for the Saxony-Anhalt cultural landscape were also assessed. Above all, artists, museums, associations and initiatives receive money.

For example, the Börde Museum Burg Ummendorf and the Moritzburg Castle Museum in Zeitz received money for the purchase of works of art. The Magdeburg Theater received funding for the project "volume 3 - demolition. Departure. A city emerges." Several artist houses and galleries received grants for exhibitions and events, it said. 24 working grants have been awarded, including three international ones for Vietnam and New York. In addition to the funding commitments, the Board of Trustees also decided to increase the amount of the work grants from 1,000 to 1,500 euros.

The current round of applications for funding from the Kunststiftung runs until November 30th. In May 2023, a decision will be made on the applications, it said.
