Saxony-Anhalt: 54-year-old dies after a table fireplace explodes

Bridge-Hackpfueffel (dpa/sa) - After the explosion of a table fireplace in his house, a 54-year-old from Bridge-Hackpfueffel (Mansfeld-Südharz district) died. The man was seriously injured and taken to a hospital in Halle by rescue helicopter on Sunday morning. On Monday he succumbed to his injuries, the police said on Tuesday morning. The explosion damaged one wall of the house so badly that the building had to be closed. The fire brigade was on site with 54 emergency services. The property damage is estimated at over 100,000 euros.
