Saxony-Anhalt: 63-year-old suffers from smoke poisoning in a garage fire

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - In an unsuccessful attempt to extinguish a fire in his garage, a 63-year-old man in Magdeburg contracted smoke inhalation. The fire broke out on Saturday for reasons that are still unclear in the Cracau district, the police said on Sunday. The garage and a car parked in it were completely destroyed, it said. According to the police, adjoining garages were also affected by the flames. The Magdeburg professional fire brigade put out the fire, which is now being investigated by the criminal police. The police were initially unable to provide any information on the amount of property damage.
