Halle (dpa/sa) - The Halle Regional Court has sentenced a 15-year-old to a youth sentence of three years and three months. The judges found her guilty of attempted manslaughter and dangerous bodily harm, a court spokesman said on Thursday. The youth chamber saw it as proven in the process that she went to the market square in May with a knife to meet a woman there. When the woman came to meet the then 14-year-old, the teenager stabbed the woman at least four times without cause or justification. The victim had to be operated on.
Since the accused was also a juvenile at the time of the crime, the court did not provide any further information on the case, with reference to the legal protection of personality. According to juvenile criminal law, the trial was conducted behind closed doors. The verdict is not yet legally binding.
