Irxleben (dpa/sa) - A 22-year-old burned in an accident on Autobahn 2 on Friday evening between Irxleben and Bornstedt in the accident car. The young woman was a passenger in the car, the police said on Saturday morning. For reasons that are still unclear, the car initially left the roadway to the right and crashed into the guardrail. It caught fire there. The 44-year-old driver was able to escape from the vehicle with severe burn injuries and was taken to the hospital. However, her 22-year-old passenger did not make it out of the vehicle alive. The A2 was closed for several hours due to the salvage work in the direction of Hanover.
