Saxony-Anhalt: After the death of a baby: a judgment against the mother is expected

Halle (dpa/sa) - After the death of a newborn girl in Halle, the verdict is to be pronounced in the trial against the mother on Tuesday. Before that, the pleadings are planned at the regional court in Halle. At the beginning of the trial, the defendant confessed to having given birth to the child in December 2021, wrapped it in a T-shirt and then left it at a recycling center. There the girl died. It was found days later by a walker. The public prosecutor had accused the accused of manslaughter. She is assuming a reduced level of culpability.
