Halle (dpa/sa) - After a tram driver attacked a passenger in Halle, the Hallesche Verkehrs-AG (Havag) wants to explore possible steps against the man. "The facts are currently being evaluated and all the consequences are being examined," said a spokeswoman for Havag on Tuesday. Havag "under no circumstances tolerates such behavior by one of its employees".
The tram driver is said to have physically attacked a young passenger several times on the train on Sunday. A corresponding video was leaked to the police, who in turn are now investigating the man for bodily harm.
The video shows the tram driver punching the passenger in the direction of his face after an initial verbal argument. Shortly thereafter, he repeatedly attacks the youth who is lying on the ground.
