Wittenberg (dpa/sa) - After an argument between two groups in a parking lot in Wittenberg, an attempted homicide is being investigated. A 27-year-old was suspected of injuring a 22-year-old and at least accepting his death, the police said on Tuesday. The alleged perpetrator is reportedly on the loose again.
On the night of Sunday, the groups initially argued verbally in a hardware store parking lot, the police and public prosecutor announced on Tuesday. Then a physical altercation ensued. At least two participants are said to have used a "dangerous object". A 22-year-old from Jena and a 22-year-old from Wittenberg were injured and treated on an outpatient basis.
The investigation into the crime and other parties involved is ongoing, it said. The police are still looking for witnesses.
