Saxony-Anhalt: Control: More than every third truck with traffic violations

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - In a cross-state truck and bus control campaign, the Saxony-Anhalt state police found numerous violations of traffic regulations. A spokeswoman for the Interior Ministry said on Friday that a total of 425 trucks and 16 buses had been checked. With 175 checks, there was something to complain about. In 33 cases, the deficiencies were so serious that further travel was prohibited.

During the action between July 18 and 24, the approximately 110 police officers found violations of driving and rest times in particular. In addition, 30 trucks were traveling too fast and in 27 cases their loads were not adequately secured. Technical defects were also reported in three buses and 24 trucks. In Magdeburg, two truck drivers were even caught without a license.

In 2022, Saxony-Anhalt has so far participated in all three so-called "Truck and Bus" control weeks of the European ROADPOL network. So far, more than 1,400 trucks and buses have been checked and around 540 violations have been identified.
