Saxony-Anhalt: DAK: Saxony-Anhalt sick more often in the first half of 2022

Employees in Saxony-Anhalt are absent from work more often. One type of disease in particular is increasing again - and is therefore the deciding factor.

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - According to data from the DAK health insurance company, employees in Saxony-Anhalt reported significantly more days off work in the first half of this year than in the first half of 2021. The sickness rate increased by around 0.7 percentage points, the health insurance company said . In 2022, this was 5.5 percent so far, so an average of 55 out of 1000 employees insured with the DAK in Saxony-Anhalt were on sick leave every day.

The background to the increased sick leave in Saxony-Anhalt is the increase in respiratory diseases, according to the health insurance company. Almost every sixth day of absence was due to such a condition. For example, 66 days of absence due to Corona were counted for every 100 insured persons, almost four times as many as in the previous year.

Musculoskeletal disorders continued to be the leading cause of absenteeism. More than every fifth day of absence was justified in this way.

Viewed according to occupational groups, employees in educational professions such as in day care centers were particularly often absent with sick leave. In the first half of 2022, they had an average of 1,289 days of absence per 100 insured persons.
