Saxony-Anhalt: Drivers beware: slippery roads and light snow

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - People in Saxony-Anhalt have to prepare for a cloudy Wednesday with local ice and snow. By early morning there can be a slight frost and temperatures between minus one and minus three degrees, in the Harz Mountains up to minus five degrees, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced in the morning.

Drivers should drive carefully, especially in the south of the country: there is little snowfall with a corresponding risk of ice. In the rest of the country, slush or freezing wet roads can also lead to locally slippery roads. In the course of the day, light snowfalls will spread from the south. According to the DWD, notable amounts of fresh snow are to be expected in the Harz mountains in particular. The maximum temperatures on Wednesday are between three and five degrees, in the Harz Mountains between zero and three degrees.

It will remain mostly cloudy on Thursday night. According to the DWD, light snowfall is expected in the north until the morning and light rain in the south. The maximum temperatures are between three and five degrees, in the Harz Mountains between one and three degrees.
