Dresden (dpa/sa) - Several swimming pools in Dresden close in the summer holidays due to the energy shortages caused by the Ukraine war. "Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck has already announced the second stage of the gas emergency plan. This means that Dresdner Baeder GmbH must also take action that makes economic sense," the company said on Tuesday. The outdoor pool operation is not affected by the restrictions.
The combined pool Prohlis and a hall of the swimming complex on Freiberger Platz will also remain open. The Elbamare will be temporarily closed from July 4th and the Bühlau and Klotzsche swimming pools from July 16th, as well as the indoor area of the Georg-Arnhold-Bad. The closing times should be used to carry out upcoming maintenance work and, if necessary, to bring some forward, it said. The indoor pools are scheduled to be closed by August 28th.
