Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - The basic fees for drinking water and waste water in Saxony-Anhalt have increased in 2022 compared to three years ago. A spokeswoman for the State Statistics Office said on Friday that drinking water charges rose 10.7 percent, while sewage charges rose 0.9 percent. In concrete terms, consumers paid an average of EUR 234.90 in drinking and waste water charges this year. In 2019 it was 222.26 euros. In summary, wages have increased by 5.7 percent over the past three years. The value results from the comparison of the absolute fees from 2019 and 2022.
The costs of water consumption and drainage are part of the operating costs that can be passed on to the tenants. For many tenants, more expensive fees lead to an increase in operating costs.
