Halle (dpa/sa) - Stage art without fixed scenes and fixed dialogues: Halle is celebrating improvisational theater for the 19th time. After the opening of the "Impronale" festival on Thursday, performances by ensembles from several countries are on the program until Sunday. For the first time, the festival will be extended to guest performances in Zeitz (Burgenland district) and Bitterfeld-Wolfen (Anhalt-Bitterfeld district).

The motto of the event is "Moving Worlds", the performances outside of Halle are part of the new "Laboratory" format. Six actors ask themselves the question: "What drives me?". They explore the effects of the environment, socialization, culture and environment, said the organizing association "Kaltstart".

Artists from Germany, Australia, the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovakia are expected at the "Impronale" festival. They would inspire with a special style mix, it was said. I improvise in drama, dance and acrobatics.

The supporting program includes two-day workshops on techniques and topics related to the art of improvised theater play, which are reportedly already sold out. The results of the work are to be presented to the public at the end of the festival in a work show, in which exchange and discussion are encouraged.
