Halle (dpa/sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt, relatively few free jobs for IT professions are reported at the employment agencies. In May there were around 400 vacancies for jobs subject to social security contributions in the field of IT and other IT professions. The demand for specialists in this area is so great that employers do not report all vacancies to the employment agencies, but also recruit employees themselves, as a spokeswoman for the Saxony-Anhalt-Thuringia regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency said on Thursday.
At the same time, relatively few people with such qualifications are registered as unemployed, which should be placed in jobs via the employment agencies. In May, for example, around 390 people in the IT and IT professions were unemployed in Saxony-Anhalt. Specialists in the field of IT application consulting were even more in demand. For every 55 vacancies, there were 25 registered unemployed with this qualification.
For comparison: A total of 73,400 people were registered as unemployed in May. Around 23,000 job offers from all areas are currently listed at the employment agencies. Meanwhile, career advisers like in Halle want to attract more young women for technical training, as a spokeswoman said.
