Zahna-Elster (dpa/sa) - Three police officers and a driver were slightly injured in a collision between a car and a patrol car in the district of Wittenberg. The patrol car with three police officers aged 21, 25 and 36 drove into oncoming traffic on Wednesday afternoon on the B 187 in the direction of Jessen in the Elster district in order to get past the flowing traffic as quickly as possible, as a press spokesman announced on Thursday.
According to the information, the 40-year-old driver wanted to quickly turn left into a street to make room for the approaching patrol car. There was a collision between the car and the patrol car overtaking from behind. Both vehicles were no longer roadworthy after the collision and there was property damage of around 45,000 euros.
