Halle (dpa/sa) - The consumer advice center in Saxony-Anhalt warns relatives of the deceased of a new scam. The scammers turned to the bereaved with a claim of several hundred euros for the alleged "deliverance of their relatives", said a spokeswoman on Friday. The perpetrators therefore claim that the country has the task of destroying the data of the deceased in various offices. They asked for a fee for this.
According to the consumer advice center, such a regulation does not exist. Those affected should not pay the required sums and file a criminal complaint.
