Saxony-Anhalt: Greens want to strengthen crafts in Saxony-Anhalt

Zerbst (dpa/sa) - At a state party conference in Zerbst on Saturday, the Greens want to debate the role of crafts and medium-sized businesses in Saxony-Anhalt. In an application passed by the state board, it is said that the advantages of skilled trades should be given more attention in vocational orientation in schools. This is to be achieved, among other things, through better cooperation with business and chambers of crafts. In this context, the Greens are also demanding that the trainee ticket in Saxony-Anhalt should be free of charge.

In addition, there should be a training bonus. In order to advance projects within the framework of the energy transition, craftsmen who take care of heat pumps, photovoltaic and wind systems are needed. "We want to widen the training corridor in this field, introduce a training bonus and thus master the massively growing order situation in the coming years. Because this is the only way to succeed in the energy transition," says the application.

Members of the federal government are also expected in Zerbst. Speeches by Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke and State Secretary for Economic Affairs Michael Kellner are planned.
