Saxony-Anhalt: heating cost subsidy for around 26,000 households

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt, the payment of the one-off heating cost subsidy from the federal government will begin this week. In this way, people with a low income would be relieved of the enormously increased energy costs, explained the Minister for Infrastructure and Digital Affairs, Lydia Hüskens, on Tuesday in Magdeburg. Nine million euros are available. Around 26,000 households in the state that already receive housing benefit receive the heating subsidy. Those affected do not have to submit any applications, the money comes automatically, emphasized the minister.
