For Saxony-Anhalt, the weather service also recorded the sunniest March and the second sunniest summer, in which 40.0 degrees Celsius were measured for the first time on July 20 in Huy-Pabsdorf (Harz district). "The second decade of December showed its icy side," and the turn of the year was extremely mild. With a rainfall of 446 liters per square meter, Saxony-Anhalt was one of the driest regions.
