Saxony-Anhalt: Jacobi and Längenfelder score World Championship points at the home Grand Prix

Teutschenthal (dpa/sa) - The German motocross pilots Henry Jacobi (Bad Sulza) and Simon Längenfelder (Regnitzlosau) were able to increase their World Championship points account at the Grand Prix of Germany in Teutschenthal on Sunday.

Teutschenthal (dpa/sa) - The German motocross pilots Henry Jacobi (Bad Sulza) and Simon Längenfelder (Regnitzlosau) were able to increase their World Championship points account at the Grand Prix of Germany in Teutschenthal on Sunday. In the MXGP class, the Thuringian finished ninth and eleventh on his Honda, collecting 22 points. In the overall standings, Jacobi is still in 15th place. Längenfelder was able to defend his third place in the overall classification of the MX2 category with 30 points. The man from Upper Franconia (Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing) finished ninth in the first race and an excellent fourth place in the second race.

The Slovenian Tim Gajser (Honda) secured the overall success in the MXGP class with a race win and a second place in the Teutschenthal basin and extended his lead in the World Championship ranking (485 points). New second is the Swiss Jeremy Seewer (384/Yamaha), who finished third and first on Sunday, ahead of the Spaniard Jorge Prado (366/Gas).

There was a leadership change in the MX2 class. Belgian Jago Geerts (460/Yamaha) has pushed Frenchman Tom Vialle (452/KTM) off the lead with two second places. Längenfelder (353) is behind the top duo. The Frenchman Thibault Benistant secured the day's victory in Teutschenthal. With a win and a third place, the Yamaha rider climbed up to seventh place in the World Championship rankings.
