Saxony-Anhalt: Magdeburg and Halle: Accident hotspots determined

Halle (dpa/sa) - In the period from 2017 to 2021, around 49,000 people were involved in road traffic accidents in Saxony-Anhalt. This is the result of figures published on Thursday by the State Statistical Office in Halle. Accordingly, 645 people died in this period. The current accident atlas contains accidents involving personal injury.

As part of the accident atlas, the statisticians also determined accident black spots in Saxony-Anhalt. In Magdeburg, for example, Albert-Vater-Strasse and the directly adjoining Walther-Rathenau-Strasse were particularly prone to accidents. In Halle, there was an increase in road traffic accidents in the Franckestraße area between An der Waisenhausmauer and Riebeckplatz. Accidents involving bicycles in Magdeburg were also concentrated in the Albert-Vater-Straße area between the intersection of Ebendorfer Straße and Magdeburger Ring. In Halle, the area around Grosse Steinstrasse at the intersection with Barfusserstrasse, in Dessau-Roßlau at the Humperdinckstrasse area and in Wittenberg at the intersection at Berliner Strasse and Sternstrasse and Annendorfer Strasse are considered to be particularly dangerous.
