Eisleben (dpa/sa) - A 23-year-old man tried to set fire to a gas station in Eisleben. A police spokesman said on Tuesday that the man had left the gas station about 50 meters long with a liquid on it. He then tried to ignite the liquid, but only a small part of the trail caught fire. The young man fled, according to the information, and was later arrested by police officers.
The magistrate issued a pre-trial arrest warrant on Wednesday. The 23-year-old is now being investigated for attempted serious arson. The motive for the crime was initially unclear. No one was injured, and there was no major property damage.
