Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - The Ministry of the Interior in Saxony-Anhalt called on the population to use fireworks responsibly before New Year's Eve. "Celebrate the turn of the year wisely so that you can start the year 2023 healthy and unharmed," the department said in a message on Twitter on Saturday. Only pyrotechnics that are marked with a CE mark should be used.
In addition, fireworks do not belong in the hands of children, rockets should never be fired from the hand. A thank you goes to the police, fire brigade and rescue workers who are on duty around the turn of the year, the ministry said.
