Saxony-Anhalt: More naturalizations in Saxony-Anhalt

Halle (dpa/sa) - The number of naturalizations in Saxony-Anhalt has increased significantly. Last year, 833 people received German citizenship in this way, 139 more than in 2020, as the State Statistical Office announced on Thursday in Halle. This corresponds to an increase of 20 percent. According to the information, 523 of those who were naturalized were able to keep their previous citizenship, or 62.8 percent. Looking at the nationalities, people with Syrian citizenship (257 people) were naturalized most frequently.
