Halle (dpa/sa) - Last year, more people moved to Saxony-Anhalt than moved away from there. Overall, the so-called migration gain was around 10,000 people, as reported by the State Statistical Office in Halle on Tuesday. In 2021, around 56,000 people from abroad or other federal states moved to Saxony-Anhalt. Around 46,000 left the federal state. In 2020, the migration gain in Saxony-Anhalt was still around 4000 people. The state capital Magdeburg achieved the nominally largest increase in migration with around 4000 people, followed by the city of Halle with around 1000 people and the Burgenland district with 880.
