Saxony-Anhalt: Motorcyclist dies after a serious accident near Merseburg

Merseburg (dpa/sa) - A motorcyclist died in the hospital after an accident near Merseburg (Saalekreis). The 36-year-old suffered serious injuries on Friday evening, the police said on Saturday. Before a long right-hand bend, the motorcyclist overtook a vehicle and hit the left guardrail. The 36-year-old then lost control of the motorcycle, fell and slid across the road. No other vehicles were involved. The man had to be resuscitated on site. He was taken to a hospital in Leipzig with a rescue helicopter. He died there early Saturday morning. The investigations are ongoing.
