Egeln (dpa/sa) - A new open-air solar system is to be built in Saxony-Anhalt. In the future, the plant will be located on the former ash heap of the Caesar production facility in Egeln (Salzlandkreis), said a spokesman for the Private Institute group on Monday. "On the five-hectare area, around 60 photovoltaic systems, which can also be used individually, will generate an annual energy yield of around 4.3 million kilowatt hours." In the best case, around 1,400 three-person households could be supplied with environmentally friendly electricity every year. Construction will start in autumn 2022. The construction costs will amount to around four million euros.
