Saxony-Anhalt: Nine cultural locations organize the first light blossom festival

Kalbe (dpa/sa) - After more than four years of preparation, nine cultural locations in the rural Altmark are organizing the first light flower festival. After the opening on Friday in the artists' town of Kalbe, various events are on the festival program over five weekends until October 8th. According to the organizers, it will shine, shine and shine everywhere - and in very different ways.

For example, on the first evening in Kalbe, homemade lanterns and fairy lights will illuminate the old town. Light performances, laser shows and 3D animations by artists from all over Germany are also planned. Concerts, readings and exhibitions round off the offerings at the Light Blossom Festival, which aims to draw attention to the cultural diversity of the sparsely populated north of the country.

The patron of the festival premiere is Minister of Culture Rainer Robra (CDU). In addition to Kalbe, the Krevese estate, the Neulingen estate, the Lindstedt estate, the Lindenhofgarten Gardelegen, the Schlosspark Weteritz, the village of Ipse, the "MitGenuss" Gardelegen shop and the St. Nicholas Church there are also there.
