Saxony-Anhalt: Partly still very high risk of forest fires in the country

Halberstadt (dpa/sa) - Despite light rain, the risk of forest fires in some regions of Saxony-Anhalt is still very high. The district of Wittenberg with the Dübener Heide, the Vorfläming and the Wittenberg Elsterland as well as the northern Börde are affected. There, the highest forest fire warning level is five. This emerges from the overview of the Landeszentrum Wald (halberstadt) on the website on Saturday. According to the state forest law, at warning level five it is forbidden to enter the forest off the beaten track.

In two other regions of Saxony-Anhalt, the second highest forest fire warning level four prevailed on Saturday: in the southern Börde and in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz. On the other hand, the lowest warning level was one for the city of Magdeburg and for the Salzland district.
