Saxony-Anhalt: People with disabilities: removing hurdles

Halberstadt (dpa/sa) - The Gleimhaus Halberstadt wants to revise its permanent exhibition and remove hurdles, for example for people with mental disabilities. The Gleimhaus, Museum of the German Enlightenment, announced on Monday that employees at the Halberstadt Diakonie workshops should use their special skills to advise them. In addition, a new event format for a broad audience should be developed. Guided tours in language that is particularly easy to understand are also planned.

According to the information provided, the Gleimhaus was selected by a project committee of the Kulturstiftung der Länder for participation in the project "Participation sites. Promoting social participation in the museum". It is one of 21 participating museums in Germany. The aim is to get more visitors interested in museums.

Johann Wilhelm Ludwig Gleim (1719-1803) was a networker, poet and collector. The Gleimhaus is dedicated to his life, work and time. It is one of the oldest German literary museums.
