Saxony-Anhalt: photo exhibition on sacred glass art in the Diocese of Magdeburg

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - A photo exhibition focuses on modern, sacred glass art in selected churches in the Diocese of Magdeburg. After the opening of "And it was light" on Tuesday in Magdeburg's Roncalli-Haus, the show will be shown with free admission until the end of November. According to the diocese's Catholic Academy, the focus is on the last, dynamic century - from classical modernism through the GDR era to the present day. The exhibition is a joint work of the photographer Frank Pudel and Susanne Kalisch, freelancer for art collection at the Evangelical Church in Central Germany.

They present various glass artists and their art - from figurative representation to abstract painting on glass and stained glass. The well-known windows of large churches will be avoided, the duo wants to show the works in small village churches.
