Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - The "Woyzeck" production of the Magdeburg Theater has been invited to the Munich theater festival "Radikal Jung". "We are very proud of the whole house," said the Magdeburg house on Thursday. "We are very pleased that we have been invited to one of the most renowned festivals in our very first season."
The production is one of a total of eleven selected productions from Germany, Austria and Belgium. The retrospective for young directing talents will take place from April 27th to May 5th. The aim of the festival is to encourage the new generation of theater makers to show their thematic and aesthetic preferences.
According to the Magdeburg Theater, Georg Büchner's part of a drama "Woyzeck" is one of the most frequently performed plays in the German-speaking world. In his Magdeburg production, director Jan Friedrich transfers the story of the murderer to the world of video games.
