Saxony-Anhalt: RKI: Incidence in Saxony-Anhalt at 114.2

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the corona incidence in Saxony-Anhalt was 114.2 on Thursday morning. This emerges from figures that reflect the status of the RKI dashboard at 3:10 a.m. This makes the state one of the federal states with the fewest reported weekly new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. Nationwide, the incidence was 221.4 as of Thursday.

However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - due to overworked health authorities and because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.

The health authorities in Saxony-Anhalt recently reported 582 new infections to the RKI within one day. Four more deaths were registered. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 717,948 corona infections and 5,358 deaths have been recorded in Saxony-Anhalt.
