Saxony-Anhalt: Schoolgirls from Sangerhausen win poster competition

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - Three 17-year-old schoolgirls from the Mansfeld-Südharz district won a poster competition on the subject of alcohol abuse. Anna Heyden, Amy Müller and Emely Schuppich from the Sangerhausen vocational high school prevailed against more than 220 participants from the state and won prize money of 300 euros, as the DAK Gesundheit announced on Monday at the award ceremony in Magdeburg. On her poster, bars symbolize how difficult it is to break free from addiction. Under the motto "colourful instead of blue", the health insurance fund had called for the poster competition for the 13th time.

The DAK Gesundheit referred to figures from the Saxony-Anhalt State Statistical Office, according to which 455 children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 19 years were taken to the hospital nationwide in 2020 with alcohol poisoning. That was 35 percent less than in 2019.
