Saxony-Anhalt: Smoldering ash probably triggers a carport fire

Goldbeck (dpa/sa) - Presumably still smoldering ash in a garbage can triggered a carport fire in Goldbeck in the Stendal district. The shelter near a family home was completely destroyed in the fire, the police said on Sunday. The damage is estimated at around 20,000 euros, adjacent buildings were not damaged. The owners also stored wood under the carport, it said. The scene of the fire was reportedly confiscated for further investigation.
