Saxony-Anhalt: State discontinues solar subsidy program: Reorientation planned

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - The state government is prematurely discontinuing the solar subsidy program "Saxony-Anhalt saves". As the Ministry of Energy announced on Friday, the funding is to be realigned. The federal government has agreed to favor investments in photovoltaic systems and battery storage by eliminating VAT. In order to avoid "permanent double funding" for homeowners, the state funding program will therefore be terminated prematurely.

However, the Sachsen-Anhalt Investment Bank is expected to process applications that have already been made in 2022 in the short term. According to the information, new applications can no longer be submitted. At the end of 2022, 612 applications with a funding volume of around two million euros had been received. The average amount of funding requested was 3,000 euros. 99 percent of the applications came from private households. The ministry now wants to examine the extent to which tenants and companies can be given more support on the subject of solar power from 2024.
