Saxony-Anhalt: State wants to promote cultural projects: applications possible

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - The state of Saxony-Anhalt has called on associations and institutions from the cultural sector to apply for funding from a special pot. For example, measures in the areas of children's and youth culture, socio-cultural, tradition and home care as well as project work in museums are supported. There are also funds for the digitization of museums and for municipal public libraries. The funding volume for 2023 is around 1.4 million euros, the Ministry of Culture announced on Monday.

The funding is part of the Corona special fund that the coalition of CDU, SPD and FDP decided last year. The package is intended to cushion the consequences of the pandemic. The special fund of 1.997 billion euros includes 63 individual measures in the areas of health, education, business, society and culture.

Funding in the cultural sector is approved on the basis of the cultural funding guideline. In the justification for the application, the relationship to the corona pandemic and its effects as well as the revival of cultural and club activities must be presented in a plausible manner, according to the ministry. Interested parties should submit their application for 2023 to the State Administration Office by October 1, 2022.
