Saxony-Anhalt: the number of retired civil servants is increasing significantly

Halle (dpa/sa) - The number of pensioners in Saxony-Anhalt has almost doubled in the past ten years. At the beginning of 2022, 12,125 former civil servants received a pension, in 2013 it was 5,975, the State Statistical Office said on Friday in Halle. Compared to the previous year 2021, there was an increase of 5.8 percent. 42 percent of retirees had previously worked in law enforcement and the judiciary, as well as in the fire brigade. 8.6 percent worked in schools and 1.2 percent as judges.
