Saxony-Anhalt: the police found a man in Halle with two open arrest warrants

Halle (dpa/sa) - The federal police in Halle caught a 31-year-old man who was wanted with two arrest warrants. The officials checked the man on Monday evening at the main train station, as the Federal Police Inspectorate Magdeburg announced on Tuesday. It turned out that the public prosecutor's office in Halle is looking for the man because he had not paid the fines.

In November 2020, the Halle district court had already convicted the man of drug possession, it said. In December last year he was convicted of theft at the Eisleben district court. He owed the fines totaling 1,584 euros. He now has to serve a replacement prison sentence of 132 days. The man is in custody.
