Saxony-Anhalt: Theater Magdeburg with a modernized ballet hall

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - The ballet dancers at the Magdeburg Theater will have better conditions for their rehearsals in the future. The converted ballet hall, which is around 160 square meters in size, was opened on Wednesday. There is now a so-called oscillating floor, which corresponds to the dance floor on the stage of the opera house, as the Magdeburg Theater announced. Previously, a dance floor lay on a normal wooden floor. "This innovation enables rehearsals under identical stage conditions and reduces the risk of injury to the ballet company," it said. The dancers' ankles, for example, would be better protected.
