Barleben (dpa/sa) - A truck driver got behind the wheel on Thursday morning with a blood alcohol content of 3.49 - and has now lost his driver's license. The drunk driving ended at the right crash barrier of Autobahn 2 near Barleben (Börde district). The 33-year-old drove the truck onto the Autobahn in the direction of Berlin and left the road to the right, the police said on Thursday. The vehicle drove into the crash barrier and came to a stop there.

The man was unharmed in the accident, but was taken to a hospital for a blood test after the breath alcohol test. The officers also secured his driver's license. He is now being investigated for endangering road traffic.
