Saxony-Anhalt: Unchanged high consumer prices in Saxony-Anhalt

Halle (dpa/sa) - Consumer prices in Saxony-Anhalt are still at a high level. In May, they rose by 8.4 percent compared to the same month last year, as the State Statistical Office in Halle announced on Monday. In addition to the high energy costs (plus 39.7 percent), food and non-alcoholic beverages (11.6 percent) became more expensive than average in May. As in previous months, heating oil (84.9) and gas (45.1) as well as diesel (54.0) and premium petrol (35.4) were the biggest price drivers.
