Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt it will be mild in the next few days - on New Year's Eve it should be up to 18 degrees warm. Storm and hurricane gusts are expected on the Brocken, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Friday. According to this, Friday will start brightly, towards the afternoon the clouds will thicken and it will rain occasionally.
Stormy gusts are particularly common in the Harz Mountains in the afternoon, while hurricane-force gusts are expected on the Brocken. The maximum temperatures are between 6 and 10 degrees. On Saturday night it will remain cloudy and rainy. Temperatures drop to around 7 degrees.
On the last day of the year, some clouds will appear and there will be showers in some areas. In the course of the day it loosens up a bit, according to the DWD, storm and hurricane gusts are expected again in the Harz Mountains and on the Brocken. The temperatures climb significantly - to values between 14 and 18 degrees. In the night of New Year it will remain cloudy, but mostly dry. Temperatures drop to between 9 and 13 degrees.
On Sunday it will rain in the northern part of the country and dense clouds will gather. Otherwise it stays dry. According to the forecast, hurricane-like gusts are to occur again on the Brocken. The maximum values are between 13 and 17 degrees. During the night there will be mostly no rain - with temperatures between 8 and 10 degrees.
