Saxony-Anhalt: Wind quickly distributed fine dust on New Year's Eve

Halle (dpa/sa) - On New Year's Eve, after two years of a ban on firecrackers, more people in Saxony-Anhalt set off fireworks this year, causing a lot of fine dust. The fine dust value was around two to three times higher than in 2021, the environmental protection office said on Wednesday in Halle. However, the wind quickly distributed the fine dust released, so that the permissible daily average was not exceeded.
