Dresden (dpa / sn) - People in Saxony have to be prepared for ice and snow locally on Wednesday. In the morning it will remain overcast with occasional snowfalls and a few centimeters of fresh snow, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Wednesday morning.
Drivers should be accordingly careful on the road: slippery roads are expected in places. Around noon, heavy snowfall is expected, especially in the southwest of Saxony, and up to five centimeters of fresh snow can fall at higher altitudes. The maximum temperatures are between two and four degrees, in the mountains between minus two and two degrees.
According to the DWD, there will be gusts of wind of up to 85 kilometers per hour on the Fichtelberg on Thursday night. In addition, further snowfalls are to be expected down to the lower elevations.
According to the DWD, there should be a rapid transition from snow to rain on Thursday. Only on the ridges is snow to be expected. The maximum temperatures on Thursday are between three and five degrees, in the mountains between minus one and three degrees.
